So today is our 12th birthday! What a year it’s been! Today, is also Independence Day, where millions of people in America will be celebrating their country’s freedom. This leads me to think about our own freedoms and how much we’ve missed out on over the past year or so. Basic things like seeing our loved ones, children missing school, traveling out of the local area, celebrating birthdays with big parties and visiting the barbershop! We are so grateful for the normality that’s gradually coming back and simple things like just being able to cut your hair. After being closed for so much of the past year, we appreciate seeing you more than ever. The shop has a great feel to it again and with 4 barbers cutting on a Saturday the energy has been brilliant. It was a year ago today that Ryan joined us at The Groom Room Torquay and he’s been a great addition to the team. We’re also really happy to welcome Lewis back to the shop on a Saturday from Newton Abbot. Our newest member to the floor is Claudia who is just going from strength to strength. You may also see James in the shop. He helps us on reception and is another fantastic barber in training.
So after a somewhat interesting and testing year, let’s hope for a healthy year with continuity, opportunities and normality. There’s light at the end of the tunnel that we’re not far off enjoying our full freedoms, whatever that may look like.
