We’ve got some great news from our Newton Abbot barbershop — Marc Nichol is back behind the chair!
If you’ve been with The Groom Room since the early days, you’ll definitely remember Marc Nichol. He started his barbering journey with us over eight years ago, learning the trade, perfecting his craft, and helping to build the reputation our shop has today.
After taking some time away to explore other passions — from baking to working in hospitality — Marc has decided it’s time to return to what he’s always loved most: barbering and connecting with people.
“Barbering has always been more than just cutting hair for me,” Marc says. “It’s about listening, chatting, and helping people feel good about themselves. That’s something I’ve really missed.”
Since rejoining us last week, Marc has settled straight back into the rhythm of the shop — catching up with old faces, meeting new clients, and delivering those sharp, clean cuts he’s known for. His chair’s been busy, and we can already tell the Newton Abbot barbershop team feels complete again.
Alongside his return to barbering, Marc is also studying for a counselling degree — something that fits perfectly with his calm, approachable nature and his genuine care for others. He’s bringing that same compassion and connection into every client experience at The Groom Room.
